MapleStory Signature Generator

MapleStory Signatures are now available to all MSGuild users.

Signatures display the following information: Avatar and Pet, Levelling history plot for the past month, Weekly and monthly level gain, Number of lazy days (days since last exp change).

Too much information may be displayed for some people's taste. However these signatures are intended to show off the features of our site.

Currently our signatures update every 6 hours, to reduce server demands. In future the frequency may be increased for the more active players.

You must register to obtain a MSGuild signature. This is because we need a user account with which to associate the levelling data, which is stored each day. Futhermore, we wish to encourage people to sign up to the site with their guilds and participate in discussions.

To create a new account click the Create new account link in the left hand block:

After registering you can now add your characters to the site. Click the Add MapleStory content - Character link:

Enter your character's name. If your guild master has already registered here you can fill in the Guild field. If you are the guild master, leave the field blank for now, and create the guild later. If you desire you can upload a custom background image for your signature. Click the Browse button to locate the image. Note that the image file should be png in format and optimally 415x100 in size. Then click Upload and finally Save.

You will then be able to View your newly added character.

Here the link to your signature is displayed.

Should you wish to update your signature background image at a later date you may click the My account link at the top left of the page. You will be taken to a page that displays all the characters you have added.

Click the name of the character whose signature you wish to update. Then click the Edit tab. You can then Upload an image as described earlier.

Signature settings are currently somewhat rudimentary, so kindly comment below if you have any suggestions. Layout suggestions would also be appreciated.

I need to add settings to allow the choice of font and its colour. Let me know what (true type) fonts you'd like adding. The following site offers some nice ones: www.dafont.com.

Should the guild name be displayed somewhere? How about allowing multiple characters on each signature?

im a retard so just ignore me...oh wait no dont im lost!!!!!

ok so apparently im an idiot... how do u get the aformentioned info to show up in your siggy?

Once you completed the above

Once you completed the above steps, go to the forum and click the profile button. Then click on forum profile information. Now you should see a box where you can enter your signature. Copy the signature url to this box, put some img tags around it (eg [img]http:/www.msguild.org/sig/charname.png[/img]) and save the changes.

Positional rejigging

I propose to update the signatures to the following format:

Kindly comment if you have any objections or suggestions. If anyone prefers the old style, an old/new option can be added to the character options. Any suggestions where to squeeze the guild name and fame?

Here is the old signature style for the sake of reference:

Looks great

I like the new look a lot better. Its much more clean, and yet still shows off the sites features quite well. I think a good spot to add the guild name could be... Vertically, underneat the Windia logo? Or perhaps near that or something.

i like this new one!!

i like this new one!!

done

Thanks for your input. The update has been made.

Multiple chars on one graph

Multiple chars on one graph would be SICK as would the different colors lol

Thank you for your input.

Thank you for your input. I'll start working on it. Currently avatars are fetched from nexon's site as and when they are required. Proper caching will be required if multiple avatars are to be displayed.

I was thinking of adding a spouse field to each character content type. A signature would then display a character and their spouse. However, this might be limiting for some. Perhaps it is best to allow you to specify a comma delimited list of characters as follows (although the functionality is yet to be implemented):

http://www.msguild.org/sig/Whimbrel,TamilHeala,Howl890.png

Note that the levelling graphs already support multiple characters in this manner. For instance the following url will display the histories for Whimbrel,TamilHeala and Howl890:

http://www.msguild.org/plot/Whimbrel,TamilHeala,Howl890&days=61&size=400...

Here, the .png suffix is optional. Additionally, you can specify the size of the plot and the number of days to display. This graph looks like this:

This is great!

Another great upgrade Chimp, I love it :)
